The work of the Advisory Committee goals are accomplished through its commitment and community service. The following are descriptions and objectives of the committee:
Purpose: Provide Leadership for Commission Activities:
Activities; Advisory body to staff and committees regarding funding and budget proposals affecting the committee, Review and assess all applications for services supporting the work of the committee with appropriate committee input, Ensures that all outside requests and demands made of the committee follow consistent procedures and are professionally communicated, Sets agendas for meetings, Reviews grant allocations and public art and music contributions, Program Planning and Evaluation Committee
Purpose: Activities; Assist in planning, advising and evaluation of community arts programs:
Concerts, Festivals, Monthly Events, Artist and Musician of the Month recommendations, Art Displays, Develop Volunteers Bureau to; Pass out flyers, Set up for local art and music events, Neighborhood Alliances, Support neighborhood projects, Publicity and Marketing including Advocacy.
Public Communications Vehicle Activities:
Develop committee action plans and implement on-going campaigns to increase awareness and develop partnerships in support of local arts and music programs targeting; Education, Business, Arts Organizations and Music Agencies, Media, Elected Officials, Civic Groups and Agencies, Youth and Seniors Community groups, and Optimize and utilize advocacy research data and delivery systems; Database of Bay Area Arts and Music Organizations, Website, Arts and music Registry, Speakers Bureau, Slide Presentations, Strategic Planning and Committee Development.
Internal Operations for Commission Activities:
Establish goals and measurement tools for committee effectiveness, Assess and revise mentoring programs for new committee members, Develop committee orientation process and user friendly materials, Identify professional development opportunities to increase committee effectiveness and provide process for communication by and between committee members, assist committees in establishment of priorities, organize retreats, work with other committees, develop content to ensure commissioner development and education opportunities.
