We Are Dedicated to Preserving and Promoting Bay Area Art & Music
With a mission to preserve and promote art and music, we also serve as an advocate and beneficial network of artists, musicians, students and media-related professionals, and the board positions are key elements to the creation of this foundation’s vision, policies and programs. Key Responsibilities of Advisory Board members are legally and fiscally responsible for all activities of the foundation. The board is instrumental for determining policy, approving the annual budget, and determining the goals of the foundation.

Benefits and Opportunities BAAM Foundation volunteers benefit from: Networking opportunities with other members, strategic partners, media corporation executives and community decision makers. Input into the vision and future of BAAM Skill development in new areas (event management, program planning, financial mgmt., etc.)

Time Commitment:

· All board terms are two years (see election schedule at end of document)
· Member meetings: 2 hours per meeting (approximately 6-9 meetings annually)
· Board meetings: 2-3 hours per meeting (March & October)
· Board conference calls: 1 hour (first Tuesday of each month)
· Chapter events: 2-4 hours per event (approximately 2 events annually)

Board members must commit to attending 70% or more of the member meetings, 100% of the board meetings and 80% of the monthly board conference calls. If a board member cannot comply with these requirements it may result in automatically initiating a resignation of the board member position. Individual Responsibilities & Minimum Qualifications are required for the following positions.

Public Relations/Outreach, Duties:

· Create materials and tools to assist in the communication with the public, non-profits, artists, musicians,
record labels, media corporations and their executives, members and strategic partners.
· Chair Public Relations/Outreach committee and supervise the promotion and marketing of all BAAM
Foundation events and campaigns.
· Prepare for meetings and attend and actively engage in meetings
Minimum Qualifications: Individual must have at least two years experience with public relations, marketing and/or event production.

Membership Director, Duties:

· Develop programs and tools to recruit and retain BAAM Foundation members
· Maintain an accurate database of members and their information
· Chair membership committee
· Work to accomplish organization goals on recruiting and retaining members
· Prepare for meetings and attend and actively engage in meetings


After School Programs Director, Duties:

· Develop programs for BAAM members and the community at large, that will accomplish our goals and
objectives for our youth programs, field trips, performance showcases, art exhibits and training programs.
· Assist with the development of special events used to promote our programs.
· Prepare for meetings and attend and actively engage in meetings

Committee Chairpersons (3), Duties:

Awards – Develop programs and events to recognize achievements by BAAM members and the community.
Student Scholarship – Develop programs and processes to create and promote scholarship opportunities for art, music, theater and media students of all ages.
Special Events – Produce and promote events that further the mission of the BAAM organization.

*Outreach/PR – held by Public Relations/Outreach board member
